Picked this set up in November, just had some time to play around with imaging it. A couple nice coins in there, and a few that went past the point of no return. Thought it would be fun to share:
I bought a dozen of those "cards" when they first came out. Some toned badly as the plastic they were in wasn't good. Some didn't tone, while some only slightly. All stored in the same box the entire time.
I've found that the coppers usually tone somewhat nicely (I have a bunch of rainbow toners from these sets) and the zincolns always have plating bubbles or nasty spots.
Those are some crazy toned coins. Congrats. I've picked up a few of these different sets as well over the years. The ones in with the black background seemed to look the best overall. (No toning on mine though)
I have several sets in slabs none of them have toned. Sealed very well I suppose. Thanks for sharing.
Remember when they were new we all looked for the 8th cent? The 82 D sm copper. Some have been found. Wrong planchet errors, I think.
I had the exact same problem. Bought 3 of those 'cards' with all 7 coins. They toned terribly ugly. I'll try to find and post them.
Yeah. I like them too. Now that I can tell the difference. See I did learn something. I think I can get the 1960 cents right too
I like to thank Benjamin as I won this set from a purchase I had made form him. And it is real nice..
I would like a slab with all the 2009 cent type set. I’m thinking 50 bucks. I would buy one for my Capri. (Birth year) But she’s into like Roman coins thanks to @Deacon Rayshout out to @Kentucky also!!!
