This was my Monday morning register find to start the week off.

I come across grease struck coins here and there and non are truly interesting and they get tossed back in the drawer.

This one caught my eye and is pretty fun to look at IMO. I’m still learning. This one appears to suffer from lots of circulation west but it looks like grease and maybe a deterioration of the die?

I was looking a little more at the reverse and t he lettering. I’m not very experienced but em I picking up possible die cracks on the bottom of the U on united and the bottom of E in one and left portion of T in cent. They are raised and do not at least to me appear to be damage like the other marks

expat Remember you are unique, just like everyone else Supporter

The U, E and T appear to have small die chips from the worn, deteriorating die

Sometime what looks like a grease strike can be a thin or under-weight planchet.

I didn’t think to weight it. Good tip thanks.

I’ll have to weigh it later when I get home just to check it out.
