Many of you know that I hold a special regard for the Large Size Red Serial Number Series 1880 Brown Seal Notes..($10 JackAss) Well tonight I worked out a deal with a friend who had the much needed Fr 102 a former note of the xxx Collection in a 64 PPQ PMG Holder. It may take a little time to finish, but hey it's secure. I now have the 1880 Red Serial Number- Brown Seal Series Set- Fr 100, Fr 101 and Fr 102 all in a nice Grade for the Large Size Collection...I am going to pop the cork on a nice bottle to celebrate!! Since I have not taken physical possession of the note yet, I have asked the current owner if I can use the image..(approval granted) Big smiles all over the place here.. Here they are all together.. I just posted the 100 and 101 in a different thread..so please forgive me for the redundant images.. RickieB
Congrats Rickie! Always a great feeling to actually complete something! That's a beautiful note too. Dave
That's always great to hear, Ricky! Finishing a collecting goal is indeed very satisfying. I wish I was there to share a toast for you! :thumb:
Congrats on the mile stone Rick! It must be nice to complete one of your big goals! Good luck with the rest and beautiful notes I might add!
So nice! It would be hard to put that one into the safe.. I would just want to stair at it all day!! Cheers to you!
Rick, fantastic looking note. I really like the designs! Since I'm just getting started, maybe you could provide a little info for the newb. Why are these referred to as "jackass" notes?
Thanks everyone for the kind words... It has taken 5 years to put these 3 together.. (Finding the right ones) TCore: Feel free to copy an image of the $10 and simply rotate it 180 degrees..look at the eagle inverted and you will see the wings look like the neck of a Jackass and once you see this you will make out the rest of it. The head is the nose portion of the animal. Regards, RickieB
Ah, yes... I DO remember seeing this a while ago. It's funny how much it actually does look like a jackass. Thanks Rick! Again, beautiful collection. I see the census numbers for these notes are quite low. You should be very proud to be the current owner of these.
TCore.. Thank you again..yes the census numbers on 2 of them are under 100 and 1 is above this mark slightly...108 I think. I am very happy to have these and I am sure AJ (my son) will be one day as well. Regards, Rick
