    Good afternoon,
I'm home resting and fasting. Tomorrow I'm scheduled for my first ever colonoscopy procedure. I'm nervous and hungry! :nailbiting:

I've been home doing some stuff like organizing, cleaning, taking pictures and cataloging my new rock/crystal collection :snaphappy:

Here are some pictures I took today of one of our newest Orchid spike and bloom.
    Side and top view..

Here is a Crystal from my collection.
I will soon be doing a thread revealing about 50+ I have recently purchased :woot:
    20220206_095253(1).jpg

And getting back to the main reason for this thread.. I have been asked a few times by friends and CoinTalk members if I can give a total for all the silver coins I have Metal Detected over the past 13 years :watching::hungry::wideyed:

    20220206_121834(2).jpg 20220206_124858(1).jpg

    War Time Nickel - 10
    Seated Dime - 2
    Barber Dime - 15
    Mercury Dime - 115
    Roosevelt Dime - 54
    Barber Quarter - 3
    Standing Liberty Quarter - 6
    Washington Quarter - 25
    Walking Liberty Half - 2
    Kennedy Half - 1
    Foreign Silver - 3

I've been detecting for 13 years. I started off slow in the beginning since I didn't know what I was doing. I detected for about 9 years with a Whites Classic 5ID and most of my finds during that time were tons of Clad and Pennies with a handful of silver finds.
Then for about 2 years I detected with a Minelab CTX3030. It's a good detector but difficult to learn and heavy to carry. My latest detector has been the Minelab Vanquish 440 and it's been my favorite detector so far! I have found the most silver coins with it.. 96 in 2020 and 116 in 2021.

Here are my 3 Metal Detectors..

Awesome stuff there Ed. Perhaps you could open a Pawn Shop when you retire. I am hoping your procedure gives negative results.

Can't help you with the hunger, but maybe with the nerves.

I had my first one seven or eight years ago. The prep wasn't much fun, but the procedure itself was a complete anticlimax. Unfortunately for me, they found several things to snip, so they put me on the every-three-years plan instead of every ten, but I've got no problem with that -- I'm completely happy to let them go in as often as they like and snip things so they won't turn INTO cancer.

    So, things to remember:
    • There's no pain or discomfort with the procedure itself. You're sedated, and won't remember a thing.
    • The most likely outcome is that they won't find any problems.
    • If they do find polyps, they can snip them out as part of the process, and that fixes the problem.
    • If they find anything more serious, you're that much further ahead with getting it diagnosed and fixed.
So, just try to avoid thinking about food, and look at it as an opportunity to spend as long as you like in the bathroom with nobody bugging you about it, followed by a nice morning nap at the clinic. :)

You’ve had years of fun and cleaned up those NYC parks. Great finds as well. That’s a beautiful orchid as well.

I’ll be praying for your test tomorrow. They aren’t nice or so I’m told but they are fairly common. I’m driving my doctor crazy as I’m 67 and never had one. No plans to do so either.

Nice finds, beautiful plant. Ive completed three colonoscopies thus far. The procedure itself is a nothing thing. You will not even know it was ever done. You are or should doing the hardest part, cleansing. Use apple juice to prepare the cleanse. It will help it taste a bit better. Be sure to finish the entire gallon. You don't want to go thru the discomfort tonight and the procedure tomorrow only to be told you were not clean enough. Although you don't need it, best of luck, you'll do fine!
    Maybe this will put a smile on your face;

The first couple of times I had that they did not sedate me. The last several times I have been sedated. But, talking with the anesthesiologist before the procedure, I found that he still gets paid even if you don't wake up.

    Good luck with the procedure.
    Nothing to worry about.
I've had 4 colonoscopies and the prep liquid and its effect is the worse part of it.

One thing I would suggest is that you have someone with you immediately after when the surgeon explains his findings. Usually you understand what he is saying at the time but completely forget about it due to the the effect of the anesthetic. That's one of the reasons they don't allow you to drive immediately after.

From Harvard Medical: The day before the colonoscopy procedure — Don't eat solid foods. Instead, consume only clear liquids like clear broth or bouillon, black coffee or tea, clear juice (apple, white grape), clear soft drinks or sports drinks, Jell-O, popsicles, etc.

    Lots of Jello-O, lol

Best sleep I've every had. Got propofol, same drug Michael Jackson ODed on.

Where is the third box? I know you started one.

By far the most. Why do you suppose that is? Just size? Easily slipping out of pockets, hands, whatever?

I’ve never had one but I don’t think we’ll hear from Paddy until tomorrow. The anesthesia probably has him knocked out or groggy. And the procedure is not very nice either.

My colonoscopy this morning went well. The doctor, nurses and anesthesiologist were very cool and helpful. As soon as the anesthesia was given I was knocked out quickly then I awoke like a moment later in the recovery room. What a crazy feeling.
They found a small issue but they were able to take care of it. I was told to do another procedure in 7 to 10 years.
As soon as I got home I ordered from the corner deli an egg and cheese sandwich.. I was super hungry after almost 2 days of a clear liquid diet.
