Looks like machine doubling to me. Looks very similar to a pic I posted not long ago. The only thing I'm not sure about is what is happening in bay 4. Maybe, die scratches or gouges?
Also, can't remember if it's '88 or '89, but there is a variety with the designer's initials that you may want to check. I'm at work right now and don't have access to my info. I'm sure the pros will chime in soon and clarify which.
