If any of you have not yet visited the website of the University of Notre Dame, Special Collections.

They cover Coins of Colonial and Early America, Colonial Currency, and Washington Tokens. For instance the Colonial and Early America category contains over "275 coins divided by coin types. Each section contains an introductory essay reflecting recent scholarship followed by full color high-quality jpeg images and descriptions for each coin." That quote was lifted directly from the website: http://www.coins.nd.edu/.

I must credit finding this site to ebay seller "kenweezle" who referenced the Notre Dame site in his listings of some Continental Currency. If Ken is a member here on Coin Talk he has a lot to contribute. Thanks Ken.

Sweet. I never would have thought to look there. I just poked around for a tiny bit, but it certainly merits a deeper exploration.
