Fugio Cent - Grade? Deal or No Deal?

    You know how auctions go, I got sucked in soooo, I WON!! Yay me. I was hoping to pay $350-375, it cost $436.02 [he said, shamefaced]. I'd appreciate any thoughts on the coin or the price.

    I am not versed in Fugio cents. How can you tell it's not a fake?

    I didn't think of that, I've seen a lot of pictures / auctions - now I'm wondering, are they counterfeiting low grade Fugio Cents? Probably - the seller has good feedback over 5k on the bay, they are selling a lot of coins, including early copper. It didn't raise any flags for me in that regard.

    I'm not well versed in Fugios but I think the price paid is a little high. At least based on what I've seen here and there. As long as it's legit and you like it, well then that's what matters isn't it?

    It's genuine. Is there some corrosion on the obverse? It looks like a lot of remaining detail but some areas are obscured.
