Anybody else in limbo?

I bought something off eBay and the seller rating seems good but the communication concerns me. It’s coming from India and the shipping was around $4 so it will take forever. I just don’t know if I’ll get it or not. I checked PayPal rules and I have 180 days so I’m not worried but I want the item so I’m absolutely stuck in limbo. Anybody dealing with a similar problem?

I often buy some niche coins from Indian eBay sellers, given the coins only worth at most 20-30 bucks that cannot be found on Vcoins/Ma-shops or other Western sites. Although a couple of drawbacks- 1. communication, 2. shipping time, I usually give 1-2 months if ebay states it'll arrive by 25 days.
If the coin didn't arrive by 90 days, I ask for a refund through paypal after telling the seller for courtesy.

 

I ordered some small display cases from China.. It's been 2 weeks now with estimated delivery date of the end of January. I knew that would happen so the limbering is real!

Not a high priced item but I need my stuff ASAP!

Mine cost $255 and when it was not marked as shipped I asked about it and got the response “Bro it will be done.” which lowered my confidence quite a bit.

 

I think you'll be alright. The paypal rules give plenty of time for you to take care of business if it doesn't arrive within a reasonable amount of time. Over Seas shipments to the U.S. obviously take more time. I think you'll be fine!

 

A couple of years ago I was going to bid in an auction, not Ebay,
that was listed on the NumisBid platform. I contacted the auction
company, they were in India. I asked about 6 different lots. Not
one of them, and as it turned out, not any of the lots could be
shipped out of India. Cultural heritage laws. WTF!! Why bother
listing any of them? I eventually found 5 of the coins on MA Shops.

 

My do not buy list includes India, China, Russia, Bulgaria and all the former Soviet satellites

I don't buy from outside the US anymore, i had a few items disappear from customs after the start of the pandemic.

 

I've ordered from India once, Nepal once and both transactions went fine. They took a bit, around 5 weeks, but I got them quite Uber catalogue value.

 

I ordered a 2019-W Washington Quarter December 26, 2021. Shipped from the U S to the U S, has not arrived. Getting anxious and thinking refund soon!

 

I don't count on any delivery times with things the way they are today. I've had mail show up in two days from across the country and then 2 months from just down the road. You have plenty of time to deal with no-shows, so give it time would be my advice.

 

Don't "Like" that you haven't received it but that you're considering refund after nearly a month, now. Have you initiated contact to ask seller if/when shipped, or...? Just wondering, not to be too personal...but the sooner the better. Good luck.

 

I have not ordered from India. I do order coins from overseas though. My first order from China arrived two months after receiving two other purchases made after. The first shipment got looped in customs. I received a Czech pkg three days after purchase and didn’t put anything for shipping. All of these were less than $300 total

 

China for sure. Never have, never will!
I've heard nothing but 'horror stories' regarding them.

 

I've only bought items from the Canadian Mint. No problems there and everything looked great. Many Americans consider Canada a suburb of the United States, but they have their rules and laws as many other countries.
If you order from countries listed earlier, you will probably have problems...some minor and some major. Just do your homework and don't takes chances and all will be well.

 

yes, bought a 45 dollar indian head nickel with obv lamination from a dude in germany, did not see was out of usa, i have only gotten coins from israel and canada before, so lets see what happens, i think it is in america now, last i checked, like 2 months ago i ordered it off ebay, but they have their guarantee so not worried

 

I have quite of few coins from foreign countries, however, almost all of them my father got when he was on Submarine duty during WWII. Not sure what to do with them. Any ideas where I can check them out to see what they are worth?
