From Spink auction/ UK unpublished AV 1/2 Pagoda

    the earliest coin struck by the British East India Co. in Madras.
    AV 1/2 Pagoda ND (struck 1643-75)
    Fort St. George Mint/ Madras
    Zeno lists 3 known exs. unlisted in Friedberg/ Krause
    obv: Vishnu
    rev: Granulated blank
    quality/ "as struck"

    One of these Pagodas are on my bucket list, these coins are also known as 'Proclamation coins', a bunch of approved world coinage used in Australia until it minted it's own coins.
    Here's a double Fanam from Madras presidency, dated 1802.

    I have all the Madras AV pagodas/ but never saw a 1/2 or 1/4 Pagoda. Even the David Fore coll. of Indian Coinage/ Baldwins I/II/III auctions had none. I have the Dutch ones from Tuticorin/ Negatputnam/ but not the Danish/ French.....
