1788 Massachusetts Colonial Cent

Just thought I'd share another great addition to my colonial type set, the 1788 Massachusetts Cent. All opinions and comments are more than welcome.

Another nice one Ryan. Looks like a pretty solid planchet. Really nice addition.

Thanks guys, I've been trying to find one for a few years with a nice look to it and this one finally came by. More detail is shown in person, especially on the eagle.

I especially like that incuse CENT is still very much intact.

Per Bowers' diagnostics, it looks to be a Ryder 10-L; Per Breen's guidance, a VF :hail:

Pre-Federal coinage is way cool and the MA cents and half-cents are terrific pieces of history.

I totally agree about the Pre-Federals!

Ryan's specimen is much smoother and nicer; here are two decent specimens that I got today (Monday) for a decent price. The 1787 has a cool die crack on its reverse:

Very nice Massachusetts Colonials, guys.

I find this design portraying a native american indian (which tribe?) very appealing, and certainly different from other American colonial issues.
