Hey everyone, Just thought I'd share another great addition to my colonial type set, the 1788 Massachusetts Cent. All opinions and comments are more than welcome.
Thanks Mark. I agree, it's really hard to fine these with a smooth surface like this, so it's definitely a keeper.
Thanks guys, I've been trying to find one for a few years with a nice look to it and this one finally came by. More detail is shown in person, especially on the eagle.
Hi Ryan - Awesome looking specimen I especially like that incuse CENT is still very much intact. Per Bowers' diagnostics, it looks to be a Ryder 10-L; Per Breen's guidance, a VF :hail:
I totally agree about the Pre-Federals! Ryan's specimen is much smoother and nicer; here are two decent specimens that I got today (Monday) for a decent price. The 1787 has a cool die crack on its reverse:
Very nice Massachusetts Colonials, guys. I find this design portraying a native american indian (which tribe?) very appealing, and certainly different from other American colonial issues. Here is my specimen.
