1941 Double Die At Least I Think Any Confirmers??

    I found this in a bag of wheats I am going through. I believe this one is a true DD from what I ahve been reading and researching lately. If you agree or disagree please let me know.

    It looks like a doubled die to me, but I can't tell the difference between hub doubling and machine doubling. Hopefully Foundinrolls will post since he knows a lot about doubled dies.

    Hi,
    ABSOLUTELY a DOUBLED DIE!! I can't be sure, but it looks a lot like FS#1c-018.1 in the Cherrypicker's Guide. In XF , worth about $45.00 Also,This is a GREAT example of what to look for on a DDO Lincoln. Notwe the roundness of the letters in the secondary image. Note the overlapping of the letters. Excellent pictures.

    I know this means as much as a private concuring with a general but all the same it is a text book example of the FS # 1cent - 018.1

    The pictures in the Cherry picker match exactly.

    Sweet find!!!! Nice picts. Good clear example of a DD. Makes me envious...still searching for my first DD circulation find :)
