I was out putzing around at a local flea market this morning scoping out some ASE's when I started getting hungry. I went over to the center court snack shack and got the burger special. $5.32. Gave the girl 6 dollars and sat down to eat. Was surprised to see the wheatie in my change, and especially in such great shape. When I got home to look at it a little closer, I also checked out the rest of my change. Just thought it was interesting to get the 91D as a "kicker". This Lincoln has more MD on a single coin that have seen to date. Left, right, top, bottom of the memorial, as well as the denomination and the motto!
I was amazed at its condition! Surprised it hadn't been pulled already. Rockdude - wasn't thinking about the DDD. It must have both, the denomination definitely has MD. The columns to the right and left of the memorial first caught my attention, I guess I assumed MD all around because of the doubling on the denomination. But, now that you mention it, the columns do look slightly different from MD. Do people collect these as side items, or toss 'em back?
