NYT has a paywall - no, I'm not subscribing. Anyone want to summarize the article?

Probably nearly all online in the future, but shows probably will survive better than brick and mortar outlets. The latter seem to be hanging on by a thread. It also seems to me that interest in the classics is on the wane, don't know how much that will influence the pace of new collectors.

I’m 38 mate! I always assumed I was a young collector but I think (and hope) we are not young collectors.

Also, can’t get link to work

Neither can I:( Social media is a complete waste of time and energy. I see it all time, esp. when working downtown, everyone walking around like "zombies" looking at their phoneo_O Worst of all, they also do it while driving on the freeway....

Isn't CoinTalk a type of "social media"?

I don't do Facebook but I do do CoinTalk!

Not really, since its a forum for serious intellectual debate/ sharing coin pics to enhance numismatics:) Facebook etc., are mainly used for kitch topics, like what you had for breakfast at MacDonalds/ gossipo_O

Not necessarily. There are plenty of "serious" discussion groups on Facebook. Many of them are private, and can be viewed by group members only.
