Some great notes everyone.. I totally forgot about the Red Seal Fractionals... Connor1 you have some nice ones too!

I've been kind of busy lately and just saw this now. AMAZING Notes everyone! I love the red seals. I don't know why, but I would guess a large part of it is the contrast with the greenish white paper. Until 2/2008 I had never seen a note that was not a green seal...Then I found my late father's stash and sudddenly I had blue seals, (including a large size!) a yellow seal, and a red seal!

I have really come to love them someday and am slowly working on building a complete set, or at least as complete as I will be able to get- I know the $100s are going to be tough to afford, and the $1 Star is something I will NEVER have, too expensive for me to be able to afford it, probably even as a rag, but I think I can do all the $2s and $5s!

Here's the $1 that was my first and is really the note that got me into collecting currency!



Here's an example of one of the $2s. I have a handfull of these now, about half of the non-star notes.




Here's my 5*. This was, I think, the first note I purchased online...I forget off the top of my head, but I do have the info in Excel!




My only Fractional to date (I hope to add some more someday!) is also a red seal



This is also my only Federal currency from the 1800s...I do have an Obsolete and a Confederate too but that's a different category
