NGC graded MS-62 Morgan Silver Dollar. A slightly better date. It’s really nice looking but I think it has a few too many dings to be a grade higher.

For some reason the 1904 O never seems to grade above a 64.... Ive have had several rolls over the years....and never got better than a 64.

    I've seen less attractive MS63s

The reverse on this is fairly nice, certainly higher than a 62 but the obverse has too many small marks that bring it down.

I had a 65 +* and a 66. They are out there, but they tend to be expensive, as a gem grade 1904o needs a good strike to make 65 or above, and there are so many poorly struck examples.

Here is one of my 65s. This was posted a while ago:

I am not a professional grader, but the OP coin seems to have wear around the ear and the eagle breast. To me that says it is not MS. Or, is it a weak strike?

Weakly struck, very common on the date and mint mark. It can easily fool you.

Here is my 1904-O. I always considered it AU-58 but you may have changed my mind with this post.

I’m not a grader either but it should make a 60 or 61. I consider the 1904-O to be a fairly rare coin in a 64 or above.

You can find this date with Eagle’s breast feathers poorly struck, and less often, well struck. I think that the well struck pieces should worth more, but a lot of people ignore that. When I was a dealer, the well struck ones were easy sellers.

No matter the grade, that is one nice coin, IMO.
