So straight? Maybe a linear plating blister? Arrrg.. I don't have my reading glasses today I see that it continues slightly to the right of the number 3. Interesting. Pre-Cud maybe?
That would be only if it continued over the rim at 3 o clock right? Doesn't match any of the 84 cuds for 1983.
Strike thought....but die cracks can be 180 degrees straight...i have a h 10 with a bisecting die crack that a ruler couldn't draw a straighter line.
I just took another image at a better angle. it's what makes me think it's a die crack and not a blister. Maybe it was a blister that collapsed?
This photo makes me more convinced that’s it’s a blister. I wouldn’t try to pop it as it’s a nice one, worthy of a 2 x 2.
Something or other. We call them blinkers, BTW. Some horses run better when their peripheral vision is obscured. Me, I don't get distracted by the crowd. But that said, that's a crack if there ever was one.
I’m speechless, which is a good thing at times. Congratulations to the OP on finding this. I’m not so proud do I can admit I’ve been wrong in the past, I’m wrong now and I’m sure I’ll be wrong in the future.
Believe me when I tell you this, I've had that same feeling, myself. More times than I like to admit, actually.
