1st let me state... I am NOT using VC according to the directions provided and do not recommend you try this at home.
2nd.. this is an "extreme" conservation.. starting with a worthless coin...
Last if successfull said worthless coin might not be so worthless anymore :D...
    anyhoo
    here are the pics..
now we wait for a 12hr soak (not the proper way to use VC)
after this will boil in demineralized water and possibly a 2nd short and proper application of VC once done...
for now the torture chamber time has begun :D

That's a good coin to test on, I mean what have you got to lose anyway? Normally I won't clean any coin that isn't encrusted with junk of some sort.

Out of the tank and rinsed, headed into it's boil then will work it with a toothpic while still warm.. but... I'm 90% positive the last digit is a 7 :D so I'm a happy camper... will add final pic's later or tomorrow after boil and toothpic work... this is the long slow meticulus part lol... (yeah my spelling sucks... so sue me lol)

I'm curious to see where your experiment takes you once you're finished. But, I suspect that you're gonna get to the point that the only thing that will help with further removal beyond that is a wire brush or a wire wheel on a Dremel tool.
