What happens if we let Verdi-Care dry on a coin? It will save me from doing some experiments. Thanks.
I have treated the entire surface of copper/bronze coins with VC just to preserve them, and have notice it wipe away a lot of green that I wan't even aware was there.
The current crisis isn't just affecting overseas shipments, its affecting everything in the supplying chain; Manufacturing, distribution, shipping. Doesn't matter if it's imported or domestic
I wasn't questioning your observation. And my comment was addressed more to all those who read this thread more than it was you specifically. And I say that because I think there's a lot of folks who don't realize or aren't aware of what I said in those comments, namely that permanent damage has already been done every time you verdigris on a coin. And that damage can never be fixed.
Practically ANY chemical applied to a coin will remove stuff that was not readily visible. I wonder if Bad Thad is in a different time zone because he has not answered my question.
An annoying political puff piece, as usual. I have learned to expect you posting such responses. More illogical logic that states nothing of any solution value, nor did it intend to. It is repeat Ideology of Division. The game of "Succession". Why don't you just go to the Politics Thread, and post, instead of sharing your politics here? Are YOU of the opinion that Americans do not have any idea? How condescending. By now, I assume you have gleaned that when I read your posts such as this, I will reply and note your sociological bent. I am not surprised that you google such drivel.
I'm certainly keeping in mind that you will do your best to interpret any link I post as an attack on America. That's not what's in my head, and not what I intended by posting the link, and I hope others reading my posts won't take them the same way. I posted a link to this article because it presented some detail on what's bogging down supply chains, both domestic and international. If the moderators share your opinion that it's mostly political, I'll be puzzled, but I'll withdraw it.
That is NOT my interpretation. As usual, you try to intimate that which isn't. What I interpret is ignorance. What is FACT, is I correctly state the political innuendos (and you are very good at being coy about it) that you post under the guise of relevancy, as an attack on my non-political non-ideological expectations on this Board, and doing so by constantly posting nonsense that has its birth in your preference to exercise an Ideology of Division. That is what I detest. I do not disagree nor will I debate your puzzlement. I endorse your description of your words as exactly that...very puzzling.
The verdigris salts are not soluble in acetone but it will dehydrate it and stop it from growing if protected from air.
Your response is so off the rails that you should apologize to the entire forum. All I see in the Atlantic’s article is a nicely written article written in a light tone. It sprinkles in a number of anecdotal examples of various shortage causes and effects to keep it readable. And, yes, it may be true that many Americans have not done deep research into the shipping industry, staffing in the trucking companies, effects of absenteeism on the meat packing industry, and on and on. They have their lives to attend to. So how can it be an insult to our country to acknowledge that people are busy and might like a summary of why there aren’t beans on their store’s shelves? What possibly could have set you off? Is a shortage of shipping containers somehow political? How about a shortage of truck drivers? Are ships that are stuck in the harbor because they can’t unload somehow political? Either they are waiting, or they are not. These are simply facts. You can like them or dislike them, but they remain, just simply facts. Finally, your responses are incomprehensible. What in the world are you talking about? Are you afraid of facts? I think that might be it - you seem to be looking out from some paranoid conspiracy worldview and interpreting even plain old facts through layers upon layers of strange interpretations. That’s a good way to feel that a presentation of factual information with light overlay of analysis (to show how the facts fit a bigger picture) can be fantasized into something political. Will be waiting for that apology for your delusional ranting.
As long as you feel better now, that is what is important. That apology ?Make yourself comfortable while you wait.
I am not feeling better. You acted like a jerk and attacked a fellow forum member. Now you just acted like a jerk again. Apologize or leave.
It will leave a very thin layer of a proprietary polymeric-based corrosion inhibitor - that's what it's designed to do. I've had test coins in Airtites for over 10 years after treatment and they look identical to the day they were put up.
There is no shipping issue, we had orders delayed , force majeure is not a good thing. Our chemicals come straight from America's top chemical companies - the same companies that supply major players.
And if that bothers anybody, a quick rinse in xylene followed by a rinse in distilled water (followed by proper air drying) will remove it. And Mike, I look at it like some of the methods and or materials you use needing to be properly rinsed off after use.
