Not as lovely a Longacre design as his Indian Head Cent, but historic non the less. Nice example Paddy54, J.T.
I checked all five 1883/2 varieties and both RPDs and this one doesn't seem to match any of them. Prepared to be wrong.
Nice. About 5 years ago I wanted a cool doubled die version of a shield nickel. Well that never happened....yet.
Correct..... but my shield poster child as to just how many varieties there are in the series that are still not known, or recognized. And they never seem to disapoint a variety collector.
The Capitol Holder makes a world of difference, they are all very nice. Thanks for sharing the Shield and the set.
While we're on a Shield Nickel Spread, I see some clash marks or breaks on this one, but have no idea if it is a known variety indicating a die injury or some post mint injury.
My BIL is our accountant and he's just getting started with doing returns , as his clients have not received all their papperwork needed. Plus Lord what over 6 million returns from last year not been processed. It looks like a long tax season for you guys...dont blame you for the naps.
