I'll ask this easy question first.
I'm doing it this way to find out if Coin Chat is also the correct Forum for this question.
If so I'll later ask the tougher question here or in the Forum that is deemed correct.
(I haven't been able to find the place on PCGS to ask this specific question.)

QUESTION: Ignoring S&H what is the cost to get variety attribution added to a coin already in a PCGS slab?
I know variety attribution costs $18, but is there an additional cost for the new slab?

No you see this is a test question to see which forum passes by answering correctly and then gets graced with the honor of being asked the tough question.

An option to trying to figure out how to question PCGS online or at their website.
    I'll give it a try.

It goes in as a reholder with variety. So yes they charge for a reholder fee $13 for coins up to $2,500 and $18 up to $100K I think speed wise it runs the same time frame as modern, so but it’s been awhile since I’ve done one. I expect nowadays you’d get your coin completed in 2 months.

We used to submit twice for varieties as the feelings were they were harder on varieties. So submission 1 was just grading, then once we received back the new top pop coins, they’d go back in for variety attribution.

    @Casman
    Thanks for the info.
I've been collecting early copper for a while (half cents and cents).
I'm okay ID'ing the half cent varieties.
But the cents are giving me grief, particularly the Braided Hair (1839-1857).
I'm looking into letting PCGS do the job for me, hence my question.

The tough question is how much will it cost to do the same thing for a crossover from NGC.

Same type deal, sent is as crossover w/variety, if it doesn’t cross then no variety fee.

If you want a Gold Shield slab the Reholder fee is an additional $5 on top of the normal $13 fee. With that you get a TrueView.

There will also be a shipping and $10 handling fee. Shipping will be close to $20.
