This showed up in my mailbox yesterday.
    It's my first Texas commem:

Now I'm not spending anymore of my collecting budget until I get to the Baltimore show in a couple weeks.

I hope to augment that budget with a trip to Vegas.
Although considering past performance this is unlikely.

I've worked out a nice arrangement.
Winnings go into my collecting budget.
Losses come out of the household budget.
    Works for me. ;)

It seems that most of the ones I looks at is overpriced.
Or I get outbid on the reasonably priced ones.
This is the first one for which everything went right.

I think early commems are in a static or downturning market.
Might be a good time to get serious about them.

Beautiful newp....Congrats. Good luck in Vegas and Baltimore. Looks like I'll be in you neck of the woods at the EAC show in Annapolis in April.

A guy near to my heart, don't know how many serious Early Commems collectors are out there. Can only ever be 10008 complete collections no matter how many of us there are. I have one of each type with the exception of the Hawaiian and Spanish Trail, been saving up for the Baltimore show. Can't seem to find one I can afford. Now seems to be the time to take the plunge, prices seem to be down a little. Can't help but think, eventually, some one is going to figure out just how rare some of these are. You'll always get the Boones, Oregon Trails etc. a low prices but there are many with mintages less then 20,000. That is a nice Texas, by the way.

Nice Commem, Kanga. I am trying to make no more purchases before Baltimore myself.
If money and time were unlimited, commems would be my next endeavor. There are some beautiful designs, including Texas.
