Looks like an Oregon gold "Beaver coin."

Not at all sure it's real though.
The date looks like 1349, should be 1849....if so it's likely a tourist trinket.

Welcome to CT. You certainly have something there, but it's hard to tell what from your photos. Please attempt to post FULL IMAGE, focused and cropped photos.
You can research taking and posting photos here at CT (upper right corner -search-). Good luck.

I am like @longshot on this one. I would like to see the date closer. It does appear to be a 1349 date in that photo which would seem to indicate a fantasy piece of some sort.

looks like a museum gift store knockoff. I have seen a few " Historic reproductions coins and confederate bills" for sale in gift shops so this might be something of that nature.

It's an "8" and not a "3". Lighting and shadow makes it look like a "3" in the date. I copied the coin photo as a .jpeg file and zoomed in. Still need better photos, though, to determine whether it's a fake or not.

If the date is in fact 1849 then it merits further investigation. I am not an expert on territorial gold but I do know a genuine beaver five dollar gold is a rare find…… Given the state of the hobby, one must first consider the piece is a copy. The very first thing I would do is attempt to see if it is magnetic. If not, then carry the piece to a coin dealer that can test the gold content. And if that passes, certainly the next step would be to send it to a TPG for authentication….. Best of luck and I hope you will keep us appraised of your results.

Welcome to CT. Hard to tell if its real or fake at that distance. Believe me, better pic's and the more experienced will chime in, good luck. Thanks for posting it.

Thanks to everyone for the advice. I will try to post better photos. The coin doesn't seem to be magnetic. Be on the lookout.
