I purchased a new coin from apmex.com. 2005 Silver Eagle PCGS MS69 S$1. I looked over the coin and it looks like something is on the coin. it's not a finger print but, something. For an MS69 from PCGS you should have no problems. I don't know what apmex.com policy is but if possible I would return it. That is ugly.
It's on the coin due to a gold discoloration on the coin. look how it is behind the background behind the stars but,not on the stars. I can return it if I want to.
It looks like glue residue from a dealer's sticker on the slab. But since you have the coin in hand & say it's on the coin - by all means return it.
I thought it might be glue. I shipped it back today for them to look at and send a replacement. Thanks for your help.
