What you have is a 1929 $50 Federal Reserve Bank Note. These notes were printed as an emergency measure and used the same paper stock as 1929 National Bank Notes and featured a brown seal on the face. A note such as your example should be worth anywhere from $75 to $90.

Thank you for the reply, I did try and do some research prior to my question but I Ben it got into types I just thought it would be best for one of you guys to let me know lol. I will probably just keep hold of it as the value is pretty low and not worth selling. Thanks again for the info

    Nice note for a collection.
Your note is a Friedberg 1880J and in its current condition is worth between $100 and $150, depending on the buyer (Grey sheet prices). Higher graded notes can go for much more (eBay sales).
The National currency notes were secured by interest bearing registered bonds deposited with the Treasurer, which the banks could receive 90% of the current market value. None were issued from Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Georgia, Maine, New Mexico, and South Carolina. They became obsolete on May 20, 1935.

As mentioned by Bradley, you have a 1929 Federal Reserve Bank Note. Is says National Currency at the top but it’s not a National note. Small-Size Nationals have Type 1 and Type 2, but once again, your note is NOT a National note. The BEP used the plates from National notes to print these with a few modifications.
