1983 Kennedy Mint or Post Error?

This is my # 2. Got it today and thought it was kinda interesting.

Any ideas or advise as to this one?

Interesting mark by the ear. Is it incuse or raised?

Maybe struck through?
Struck through what, theaux?

 

I would say struck through but what? maybe a bugger I don't know.

 

I was thinking more along the lines of ear wax.

All joking aside, if not struck through, maybe there was something wrong with the planchet, before it was struck?

 

Could be if it were in the fields.

 

At first I was thinking lamination error, but the close up pics says no to the lamination error. I think it is post mint damage, but I think you could get it slabbed by SGS as a top 100 Ear wax Vam in MS 65. ;-)

 

Probably struck through a blob of grease.
