Hey all, here a silver campgate coin minted in Trier for Constantinus I. The piece is damaged, I wonder if the side is 'cut'. As a comparison for the diamerter, a 1 cent coin of the USA. obv impconsta[ntinusavg] , rev [virtus]-militum mm PTR, 0.86gr, diam 13.60 mm RIC VI nr 827a. Please schow your virtus militum campgates. Thanks ! sky92880
sky, For comparison is a billon nummus of Constantine II, struck at the Trier Mint from my collection. The coin is 19 mm, the same as your Lincoln penny. It looks like two pieces were broken-off from your siliqua or argenteus for small change. Silver was so much more valuable than billon or bronze this wasn't unusual.
@Al Kowsky : Thanks for your answer, beautiful Constantine II nummus! @ominus1 : it is silver alright. @seth77 : That is what i am thinking . Thanks for your answer. @ Romancollector :Exellent coin, they are difficult to find perfectly centerd.
