I found (in circulation no less) a 1999 SBA dollar with slight but noticeable doubling in USA on the reverse. Ill try to get some pics but its difficult without a professional camera... Is this a common double die for this date? Or is it more uncommon? I have never seen this before on a SBA
ill see what i can do. i can see it quite clearly in my 16x loupe....that helps you none but im just sayin
NOW youre just talking blasphemy! haha Im new to using the loupe as it is let alone taking pics THROUGH it!
The trick seems to be with the camera (LOL). But, scanners work too..... Also, upload the photos to something like "photobucket". It will allow you to post larger pics on this site as you are restricted with file size in regard to direct uploading to cointalk.
For some reason i didnt think of the scanner!! Ill do that asap! I post pics on the tool forum im on too so im familiar with uploading tools and coins....weird eh?
Hi, Extremely common and without value. Also , this coin shows effects of extreme die deterioration. (Fancy for being struck by worn dies) That contributes to a doubled look to the details as well....also common and without value. It's not a doubled die. It's technically not so good. If someone wants a nicely struck, early die state coin, the coin shown would have several points against it having been struck by such worn dies. Thanks, Bill
