This Liberty nickel normally lives in a bank vault. It was visiting with me at home this weekend so I took a couple photos & I hope you like it. I’m just sharing it here because it is one of my favorite coins and I don’t get to see it that often. If you have an obsolete coin that is struck in error, please tell us about it & post a picture. This type of off center error occurs when the blank is not in the collar and simply gets struck off-center by the obverse & reverse dies. When both the obverse & reverse dies strike the planchet in this fashion it is further specified as “die struck reverse” or “DSR”. When there is any design missing, it qualifies as an off center strike. Obviously, much of the Liberty design is off this planchet so this is easily identified as an off center strike. This Liberty nickel is about 25% off center at 6:00 with DSR. Post em if you got em. Very best regards, collect89
Thanks Ya is only in VF condition but then again it was only $35 and it is still my only large cent because it is so cool i dont really care if i get another :smile
This is one that my son found looking through my IHC. Since I don't really collect IH I asked around for info and low and behold....an 1894 snow 1.
I just saw your post from last night (time zone difference) Hello Bobzdad, Welcome to the error cointalk forum. Are you interested in error coins & do you collect them? Very best regards, collect89
Post photos of your obsolete coins with errors. Perhaps an SBA or a wheat cent might be considered obsolete today. Here are a couple other obsolete nickel errors.
That is a really nice brockage error Hello Canerrcoins, I've been having much trouble communicating with CT for the last several days & did not see your post until today. That is a really nice brockage error. I do not have a brockage error on an old coin in my collection (unless you count the wheat cent as being an obsolete coin).
These are some really nice errors in this thread. This is my favorite Indian error (sorry this picture looks grainy - I'll have to take better ones next time i visit it). PCGS AU55.
Have you posted that before, Robbudo? Could've swore I seen it somewhere else on the forum.... Very nice coins, I especially like the coin in the OP.
