Here's a link in case you missed it the other post. It the link to attribute the 3 cent copper nickel. This hard back cover book sold for $500 back in the day,and one I find to be the best references for this series. https://archive.org/details/guideusthreecent2003gifford/page/n277/mode/2up I hope this reference is of use to you.
Better date 38 k 1879 This series is probably one of the over looked series to collect. Never the less it has a lot to offer to the collector who likes something that isn't mainstream.
I really like the design of this coin but unfortunately only have one that resides in our 7070 album.
I did not. I just looked it up on PCGS and mine looks to be the "Open 3". I'm also severely sleep deprived so I could be hallucinating lol.
Go to the reference book and take a look ....with coin in hand. I tried but need better images. Get some rest.... god knows your hands are full. lol
I've only got one. Bought it for my type set. I wanted the best ribbing on the III that I could find at the time. PCGS MS-65
It looks like 1873B03. There are no clash marks or signs of a RPD on mine that I can see. She's worn but I like her
I just won this one for taking second place in the "Miscellaneous Items” category at the recent FUN show exhibits. It's in an MS-64 holder. This is the one in my type set. It is NGC graded PR-66, CAM.
Yeah but Larry's 1879 ........wow nice colors! My 76 was that color toned, but has changed perhaps the cardboard in the slab box. Later if Time allows im going to attribute the 79 38,000 pcs and a great grade. PO 1 survival rate 45 meaning < 45 estermated to exist. 10 are known to exist. RPD 001 in 63 $870 ,64 $ 945 , 65 , $1425 ,66 $2100 +/- pricing is most probably ood.....but this is a PQ coin...at least a 65 and I see a 66. Sweet coin
I don’t collect the three cent Nickels, silver or copper. This is one of two that I have and it resides in my Dansco 7070.
