Money is tight and I keep finding coins I can't pass up, even though my budget says I should. This is a Late Die State with provenance I couldn't pass up.

I got it within a few days of this raw S-180. upload_2022-1-16_13-59-44.jpeg
While labeled Die State V, it could be III, IV or V because the corrosion over U obscures the break there and what can be seen could be corrosion rather than a break.

Wow, that is an attractive Barber half. I've spent years, decades, generations, looking for such a nicely graded Barber on-line but none are ever found. Of course there's a limit to exactly what a picture will show. A very nice piece tho. You'll never find a 63 like that on-line. Actually even the 64's look like {poop}; excepting possibly some 1892 or 1915 pieces.

Not really a splurge, but, it filled a hole in my full horn set. Purchased at FUN.

Coin-Coin go away made of silver you can stay! Compiling my allowance so I can buy something worthy. Wish my wife would give me a raise.

This one was a no brainer as I got a variety specimen too.

I'm humbled seeing the amazing coins posted here. I'm hesitant to include my splurge. I've posted it before, but the title of this thread opens the door for my modest splurge as well.

splurge coin describes it exactly.. didn't really need it for my set, but now it has me considering doing a PR/PF Wheatie set. I have 56 and 58 now and have seen quite a few in auction recently...
i grabbed this one a few week ago for only $40,

Many may not know this, but as a variety collector....this coin 1847/7 was pictured on the cover of early CPG's ,however it wasn't listed in the book! Very nice example btw I have 1 no where near as nice. Two thumbs up.
