Hey guys/gals. My friend sent me over a picture of this coin that's 25mm in diameter. The reverse is fire, but it looks like a dog toy on the observe. Idk if that has a chance at being determined, but I think if we can nail down the reverse it would be a great start. He thinks is might be Elagablus. Thanks in advance for your help!
Second half of the reverse legend reads "Markianopoliton", so this should be from Markianopolis in Moesia Inferior. I'd start from there.
Before the city name on the reverse is the name of the consular legate, ΦΙΡ ΦΙΛΟΠΑΠΠΟΥ (Fir. Philopappus), who only appears on coins of Severus Alexander.
The reverse reads YΠ ΦIΡ ΦIΛOΠAΠΠOY MAΡKIANOΠOΛITΩN = (in full) YΠATEYONTOY ΦIΡMIOY ΦIΛOΠAΠΠOY MAΡKIANOΠOΛITΩN = "of the Legate Firmius Philopappus of the Marcianopolitans".
