The reverse has an appearance of a shattered die, but the observe has all these bubbles which make me think its a counterfeit? Hoping more experienced members can chime in. https://www.ebay.com/itm/265486294077?hash=item3dd0375c3d%3Ag%3A8ukAAOSwzDxh1ijn&nma=true&si=awcA7FOMOmzYMq%252B%252FlpA6EWmHXp8%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
looking at the reverse looks like it has some sort of coating, plastic perhaps ,causing the bubble effect
The dollar is likely real but, someone had fun messing with it. Looks like some type of coating was put on the coin. Interesting effect but, not an error.
That is seriously one messed up coin. I doubt I'd even consider giving them the value of the silver content.
I can't see it as a contemporary counterfeit, because I can't imagine anyone accepting it at face value. Or even being willing to touch it. It looks like it would give you smallpox.
