Just a modern dollar but it is an error. Graded by PCGS Currency as a VF30, 1915-E, 1988A $1.00 Error. It’s a Federal Reserve Note with plate #A651/371. The serial number is E12831296M. This is a miscut note as many people think it is. It’s a Misaligned Face Printing Error. The back of the bill is fine but the front is misprinted. The serial numbers are printed too low as are other items. The top left side is actually cut off of the bill. On the bottom left, you can see a small portion of the bill below. A nice little error note that I picked up last month.
Your note is both misalined or off center as well mis cut...just like this $2 US note. I only wished my father had been able to bring some errors home...you see dad worked for the Federal Reserve bank of Richmond for 47 years....he went from a runner at 17 to a Federal Reserve agent who issued as well destroyed money.
I only put them sideways to make the bill large enough to see the details. I can’t get them to show correctly the other way, darn cell phones.
Yes but it’s small on my phone. I’ve posted them with the correct orientation and several members ask me to turn and enlarge so I did.
on my truck I was hit TWICE by people driving while talking on cell phones. One hit me T-bone while I was driving. and ONCE while walking across a parking lot to my truck. I was hit by a man talking on a cell phone backing up. It spun me around but no real damage but he sped off before I could get the tag.
This type of misaligned face (second) printing is often mistaken for a miscut error. The location of the third printing is the key to identifying the difference. If the third printing is dimensionally located properly on the bill it can't be a miscut.
