Why would anyone bid on this coin?

    This is actually more positive than negative. The coin probably won't sell. But the seller isn't being dishonest, just unreasonable with the ask price. This is a perfect example of why I frequently state that TPGs should grade cleaned coins. Here we have a completely honest auction with all important information available to the potential buyer. If nobody ever slabbed the coin, the chances for a dishonest transaction would be increased. And the buyer can decide for themselves if they agree with PCI's grading.
