You're all just a bunch of haters (smile)! I've never met any money I didn't like. It all spends no matter what it looks like.
Personally, I really don't care for the Ikes. They are my least favorite. Even though they're the same diameter as previous dollars they seem bigger. They seem big, clumsy and boring to me. They just don't do anything for me. I don't like Trade dollars either. I doubt I will ever buy one. I have an appreciation for pretty much everything else to varying degrees.
shocking Thanks for your honesty. Sort of shocking to me personally. You might the first person I ever read that did not like a Morgan (no offense).
golden lady goodies Oh my, Oh my..... , I am guilty here. I love the reverse of these golden 10$ gold pieces. I just love them. I have the first 12, and pick up MS70 extras when I can.
Modern - I dislike the Ike Dollar Classic - tie between the Classic Head Large Cent (obverse) (don't shoot me, Mark!) or the Liberty "V" Nickel. This is not to say I won't ever own one or more, but their design is boring to me. Lady Liberty is extremely ugly in both. :smile
I actually rather like most modern coinage (I suppose I am weird that way), but if I had to choose a least favorite, I'd have to choose the Washington quarter. For the classics, I too have to go with the Morgan. They do look better in hand to me, but so much about them just fails to excite anything in me, and something about the eagle on the reverse seems incredibly off to me.
Agreed. Do i have some? yes. do i dislike them? you betch ya. Now my the COin gods have mercy on my soul....
Without any hesitation I would say the Susan B Anthony. I just realized I keep that series stored and separated from my other collectibles. Is that Freudian or what?
PURE MONEY MAKING GRAB ! The US Mint will keep cranking out every theme known to man as long as people buy this junk. Its all about job preservation. the goal is to have more products than collectors.
HMMMM, I forgot about those. I said Jefferson Nickels and Roosevelt Dimes but now must find a place on my hate list for those Ikes too.
I've never liked the Jefferson nickels, or the Susan B. Anthony dollars--I truly dislike the SBA's. I never much liked the Morgan--the coin seems so "busy" somehow. The Ike is sadly boring--he deserved better. I used to dislike the Indian Head Cent, until I discovered that they didn't have to look like they'd been handled a million times and then run over by a truck. I may edge into collecting uncirculated ones some day. I have to also say I dislike the statehood quarters, and the state parks will probably make the list too. I do love Lincolns, most all proof coins, and high grades of Roosevelt and Washington silver coins. I recently picked up some beautiful proof Kennedys, all deep cameo.
I love this question - it gives me a chance to bash Ike's I love this question - it gives me a chance to bash Ike's, Kennedy's, Washintons, SBA, Roosevelt's, Franklin's, and those God awful golden dollars, - they are the worst barr none coin in the history of mankind. All these are so bad that if they all disappered, no one would be sorry. They are ugly, look stupid, have little to no artistic value and when compared to our classic U.S. coins before 1945 look like Chucky Cheese Tokens. I tamed it down a bit so as not to offend newcommers. Does anyone now know how I fell about these coins????
I find the Ike dollar a lovable dud, I love the reverse celebrating the moon landing. I find the Golden dollars a HUGE snoozer, with their artless portraits.
