Obverse looks fine. Reverse doesn't. I think it's a error coin but not sure what it is called. It weights 3.14 Grams. Is this worth grading?

I'm not sure. I would think that with that much damage there would be something on the obverse? Not so much as a ding or dent? I'm new at this and I don't know much but I'm trying to learn from you and I appreciate your response.

There are many ways to damage just one side. Only the person who did that would know how it was done.
But that's not any kind of known mint error.

BTW.. You can send any coin for grading. If you believe you have an error you would send it for attribution. That's a different service and extra fee from the grading companies. Don't waste your money on that coin.

Agree. Looks to have been struck and then PMD to the reverse w/o affecting the obverse.

Much appreciated. I like it that everyone that knows is in agreement. I'm just going to keep it in my collection of damaged coins for future reference.

Looks like two part epoxy on the reverse.

It’s damaged. Looks like it was left on a hot electric burner. Welcome to CT.

That cent was left on the Barbie too long. PMD, not an error or worth the money to send it in, IMO.

You'll also see the acronym IMHO which is for "In My Honest Opinion" used here. So, having said that, IMHO there are very few wheat cents worth sending for grading or attribution. A few exceptions but not many! However CT is the place to find out before you waist your money! Welcome aboard and good hunting!!!
