@eric6794 , have you tried to adjust the lighting in an editing program like LunaPic or PhotoScape?? Free and easy to use!
@eric6794 Does your scope have in-built LED lights? I have always found that by switching them off, and using external light sources, you can highlight the specific areas, like notching of serifs etc. more clearly. The LED's tend to wash out small details as they are directly above the subject.
Very nice. I'm still waiting for my Wi-Fi scope I ordered months ago on Amazon. It's prob in one of those packages they found dumped I read about...
Years ago I had a portable OTG scope that plugged directly into my phone that had the built-in led light ring around the lens. At higher magnification the light would wash out the finer details so I cut a light cover ring from an old led diffuser panel that worked great.
Nice. As mentioned, lighting can make or break a decent photo. Generally speaking, having two to three light sources seems to bring out the details better. I keep my LED light on my scope turned off because it hurts, rather than helps my photos, which aren't that great in the first place.
Amazon has translucent stick notes. You can cut a circle out close to same size as lens and then stick it to the camera to diffuse the light. They also come in color tint, in case you wish to be different. As some have figured out, most of the manufacturers lie about the pixel count and the actual magnification 1000X, my ______!, you generally can not get a highly resolved photo unless it is a true 8MP pixel chip. Look at Astronomy electronic cameras, and you might see a real 8 mp camera that is actually a 8 mp camera, but at a much larger cost that is worth it. I think the manufacturer thinks...How are they going to know.... But they are inexpensive. IMO Jim
I'll have to look into sticky notes. This camera says it's a 2 mp and I think that's what it is but it advertises as 1000x zoom and it defiantly does not zoom 1000x.
Im looking into a different light source set up not sure what route im going to go yet but yeah the LED really does white wash the coin.
Finally got my scope today! I was beginning to give up on ever getting it, lol. Here's a couple of pics just playing around with it. They are also the first and only pics I've taken so far. Max magnification. Min magnification. I need to do a little fine tuning to the mechanical adjustment knobs so it's easier to focus at higher magnification but I'm pretty happy with it.
