I was looking under sold items on Ebay for this coin and I see one in particular that is ungraded and looks like it's in horrible condition that sold for probably about $1,000 and another one that sold for $700. While others that are in similar condition are like $7 at their lowest. What makes one of these valuable and what would mine be worth?

Not sure I understand. If you were looking at actual sold items, how could one be
"sold for probably about $1,000" ?

How can I tell? Sorry this comes from my stepfather's collection. I am not super knowledgeable.

Those all look like active listings, not finished. I see some have/were been bid on but do you have the actual finished sales of any of these to post here? Sometimes people back out or other times a seller will bid/buy his own item to create a false excitement when he re-lists.

They are in green. They are sold listings. Check eBay under sold. You'll see it.

I have a number of them. Why I have them I don’t know but they’re worth a buck apiece.

I have several of these that my parents gave me after winning them in slot machines in the late 70s. My LCS sells them for $1.25 when available.

Aside from mint errors and PR70/MS70, I also cannot understand some of those crazy sold prices... it's so far beyond 'Bidiot Syndrome'..... just don't get it....

1 bid on something like that could be a push from a friend. I don't think it means much and I don't pay any attention to them.

If you look closely, it looks like all those listings were started by somebody with no or little feedback. Also if you look at who bid, you will see them listed as "not a registered user". Looks like somebody got caught doing bad things.....and kept trying. When there are hundreds of listings for those coins at less then $20, you gotta know that the $600 sales are shady.
