It's most assuredly not THE DDO. From the picture I can't tell if it's a true DDO or not but lean toward not.
the 69 is similar to the 55 double die. Its visible to the naked eye. the second you see one , you will always know what a 69 ddo is. or what was if its been in circulation for too long.
It is not a DDO, which several have already mentioned. The DDO-001 is extreme and easy to see, but many do not realize that there is a DDO-002 for 1969S, which has doubling on the "96" of the date only due to it being a tilted hubbing. It is a nice coin, but only worth a $100 or less. Not that one either, sorry . Jim
I'm not seeing it, but there are other DDOs for the '69S other than "the big one." Coneca lists DDO-002 as weak doubling on the upper "96" of the date with MDD on the date and mintmark as markers for the EDS, but I still don't see it on this coin. There is strike doubling clearly visible though.
