..this lil fella dug up 209 Roman coins(mostly bronze, 3rd-5th century) in a cave in Spain..according to "The Guardian" digital newspaper (where to see details)..and if that don't remind ya of Monty Python.. pic courtesy of The Guardian.
That was in one of the other posts --but it's good enough to be worth saying again, just for emphasis.
@ZoidMeister, Nope, just because it happened in your lifetime doesn't mean it's not history. (I turned 60 this very day.) Just speaking of 1973, and so forth, is your tag line, "Busy chasing Carr's . . . . . . . (woof)", a reference to Cheech and Chong? The routine with the two dogs, where, after they've sniffed eachother, one of them says, 'Let's go chase cars and get high on the exhaust fumes.' (Right, it was the early '70's. Kids --and dogs, for that matter-- don't try this at home.)
..sorry @robinjojo ...i'll see if the mods can remove this one, since you posted a few hours ahead of me... ..happy bday..i remember when i was your age..
Carr being spelled with two "r"'s is a reference to Daniel Carr, notable die sinker from Colorado. I collect too much of his stuff. No badgers in his lineup that I know of however. Z
I really think all three are worth keeping. This is the kind of stuff that lends itself to multiple perspectives. And Thanks, @ominus1. ...Well, I can remember when my dad was my age; does that count for anything? Many thanks for the elucidation, @ZoidMeister. Now I know why the allusion went sailing over my head!
Thanks lots, @Kentucky. It was a good one. ...Ironically, 30 was the toughest yet; at this point, I'm just equally grateful and bemused to still be here.
I've had the pleasure of killing a badger with a 2"x4" years ago - nasty creature came in the yard and attacked my dog.
..i have one that comes to the door if i don't throw out enough scraps, to beg for catfood...he even opens the screendoor..
