hi, i got this note from the bank and noticed it has a star. can someone tell me what the star means and are they more collectable because of the star? i hope this pic is ok. thanks for your time.<a href="http://s769.photobucket.com/albums/xx338/naswas/?action=view¤t=star.jpg" "http://i769.photobucket.com/albums/xx338/naswas/star.jpg"
Go to mycurrencycollection.com as they have printed numbers by series. I like to hold on to my stars. As far as value they should be unc. and also depends on series and denomination. Hope this helps.
New to Star Notes First day I looked for one I found a $1 bill 2006 G 00815682 * thought it was cool looked it up for fun.... Next day I found a $5 bill and I thought the number was awesome 2003A FB 00030004* lots of zeros! I know they probably arent worth much and I am sure it is explained somewhere how to look up there worth, if any (I cant figure out how to navigate this site yet) But can someone help a girl out and shed some light on finding values and rarity? Thanks, Kitty
Full run of 3,200,000 notes, with a total of 6,912,000 printed for the district. Probably not going to be worth much of a premium any time soon. Short run of 640,000 notes. Between that and the nifty serial number, this one ought to be worth a good bit more than the face value if it's in reasonably good shape....
Thanks.... where could one look to find a worth? I'm just curious, dont plan on letting go of either bill. Kitty
The Bank note reporter has updated values, I dont have a current Copy but they have alot of variations and the include star notes Unlike other publications.
I agree with Numbers that your $5 star is probably worth 3x or even 4x face with that fancy serial # if it's in good condition. I save all my $1 and $5 stars and have gone for over a year sometimes without finding one, so perhaps you have the magic touch!
