    The letters IC on the right side of the bill, first time I have seen this.

    Looks like a water mark or stamp to me not an error still $1:):).

    It did not come from the BEP looking like that. Not an error, just damaged. That was applied to the bill after it was in circulation.

    Possibly a "chop mark" from a foreign bank or merchant verifying it is legitimate. I have seen many of these types of stamps. usually they are on $100 bills, but I have seen them on every denomination down to the $1 bill.

    You haven't seen it before because it is just a random stamp applied after the fact. A spender.

    Maybe I should go to the local stamp store and have them make a rubber stamp with my initials. I could make every bill I get and see how many of them are posted to CT.
