FORCED RESPONSE! My wife is behind me with a gun! She read this response and has this response to your suggestion. 1. Finding frame with proper fitting NOT LIKELY. 2. IF it fits but loosely, you now have to find a mat that fits within the frame and does not block the object you are trying to display. 3. If you purchase a frame from such a place, how old is it? are the corners still tight? is there sufficient room to place the object in the frame and allow for proper backing? etc etc etc. The last thing is the proper sealing of the frame to make sure dust etc does not creep into the display. Linda, the one with the gun!
LOL, about two years ago a neighbor offered me two almost full-sized sheets of plywood, 5/8" and 3/4". I wanted to pay him but he refused. I'll bet he's had second thoughts. The 1/4" plywood suggestion is a good one. Run a feather duster over the coins/folder once a month and you're in business; after all, they were already in circulated condition. Steve
Thanks, they make picture frames that size and they keep the dust away. The glass can also help keep the colors from fading but I wouldn’t put it in strong light under any circumstances. The kids can even help you frame and hang it.
If you aren't going to go to the trouble to frame it, I'd use those removable tabs so if you tire of it, easy to remove without leaving any holes or marks on the wall. I think 3M makes those.
