Am I correct in assuming this is a blow hole error? I bought it as a "cull barber dime" for $2.50 and I thought it looked like one although I didn't see much info online about these errors. Doesn't look like your typical bullet hole or jewelry coin...
Awesome, thanks! I knew it looked like one so I figured I'd take a chance on it for the price of a regular silver dime. I'm surprised by the amount of wear for being such an extreme error though.
Can we have some explanatory text regarding “blow hole error”? It isn’t just Youth that wants to know….
@Matthew Kruse - that coin looks suuuuper familiar - did I sell it to you? (If I did, nice cherrypick! I had no idea...) Of course, it's entirely possible I'm thinking of a different coin altogether. I did go through my older US/junk/holed bin, and didn't see anything similar. I'm pretty sure I had a Barber Dime at one point with a very similar hole. Most likely included it in a group of junk dimes haha... See, never stop learning.
Haha, maybe? Did you send the coin risky shipped earlier this week? EDIT: It could be possible you had it at one point and sold it to another person in a lot who sold it to me individually.
It is possible it is genuine. If the OP wants to send it to me to check it out I would be happy to at no charge. I would also take HD photos. Here is a sample of my photo skills on a different blow hole if interested.
You sure did sell it a little while ago, miss it already I bet.https://www.ebay.com/itm/185175666758?hash=item2b1d547046:g:ZgsAAOSwcCdhmUjz#vi__app-cvip-panel
