It is not a paper money only show but is a fairly large coin show which usually has many paper dealers. My brother-in-law is a zookeeper in Baltimore and collects notes with wild animals on them. He goes to the show and always finds stuff there.
Thanks for the heads up on the show lettow, How would you compare It to the show in Long Beach California, Thats a big one!! Ive been to That show every year for atleast the past 7 every time they have had It, Except this year
Since I have never been to Long Beach, I cannot compare. Baltimore is becoming one of the largest shows on the East Coast. If not for the trial that I have that same week, I would be going to Baltimore. I have been to the show before and I would go again. MPCUSA -- since you are now in FW, will you be going to CPMX in March? How about Central States in Milwaukee the end of April?
Iam going to try thats for sure!! There sure alot closer, I went to the ANA in Los Angeles last year for the first time, Actually went to pick Up my graded notes from PCGS, It was a great day!! Excellent Show and lot,s of good Mpc
Is it worth Coming on Sunday? Because of my sports schedule that would be the only day possible, but I hear a lot of dealers are packed up and gone by then..
I went to the Whitman Show in Baltimore last November. Very big show. went back on Sunday and realized I was wasting my time because about 75% of the vendors had left However, I did buy a beautiful French MaryAnne medal complete with original case.
I plan on going. It will be my first coin show. Hope I can find some great finds. Anybody know some good dealers that are going?
The last day of any show is usually a waste of time poor Selection and most of the dealers are long gone by the Middle of the day!!
Plan to go too! I plan to go too! I wasn't able to get to the show in November because of travel but I am definitely not missing this one! I am going to try to go Saturday mid-morning and my income tax refund is supposed to be deposited on Feb. 26th - woo hoo! Rosie is going to be spending some money for money!
Most of the big names will be there. The Canada Royal mint, Perth Mint, but funny I didn't see that the US Mint will be there.
The US Mint wasn't at the November Show either. Did you see if the French Mint is going to be there? Over the years I've bought about ten or more bronze Art Deco and Art Nouveau medals but got tired of paying the s/h. Would like to make some local purchases. http://www.monnaiedeparis.com/collectionneurs/med.htm
Rickieb PM me as I am a South Balto. homeboy maybe we can hook up? Would love to show ya around town if ya never been..... Paddy
Paddy.. Thank you.. I am in the Mid-Atlantic quite often as the majority of my clients are based there. Been going to BWI for 15 years now... If you are there, just have me paged. Regards, Rick
Some of the them are quite unique but I haven't photographed them yet. Your request has motivated me to learn to photograph coins/medals. BTW, The last day, Sunday, of the Whitman Show last November in Baltimore I was making my usual rounds and getting some very very good deals I bought a classic high relief French May Anne medal in original leather covered box. Didn't get a deal on it because the owner of the booth space wasn't there, but it's worth retail. My M.O for these shows is to make a complete walk through of areas I'm interested in noting vendor locations and prices then reviewing prices in the grey/green sheets. Then going back to vendors and getting the best deal I can for stuff I can't live without. Try to go back on Sundays when dealers are packing up and anxious to make some bucks and usually get good prices on stuff I wanted but didn't buy the first day but weren't that important to me.
