Was checking a roll of 66 penny's from dad's collection and saw this one look at the steps they look bent or something. What do y'all thank
I see weakness in the middle of the steps due to high relief on obverse. Quite common on the older pre '82 cents
As with the nickel roll from last Monday…your focus is off. You must fix this or all you will get is generic answers. From what I can see, looks like a nicely preserved ‘66 with strike flaws. Many millions of these were saved by collectors, but it’s a keeper in my book.
pictures are blurry but I recognize whats going on already. PIDT, Progressive Indirect Die Transfer. http://www.error-ref.com/progressive-indirect-design-transfer/ after so many strikes the obverse die is deforming the reverse die with the outline of lincoln, it's die deterioration. it's much more commonly seen on Wheat backs, not memorials though.
I know some are tired of hearing this, but FULL IMAGE, FULL IMAGE, FULL IMAGE, PLEASE. It just makes it so much easier to view and give opinions.
