  1. Beautiful uncirculated one dollar bill star note with fancy serial number IMG_20211231_175000.jpg IMG_20211231_174949.jpg IMG_20211231_175019.jpg

Nicole, it is certainly a star note. Seems like it's in decent condition. Tough to tell from the pix though.

My question is, what makes it a fancy serial number?

  4. Was told it was "fancy" because it only uses 4 numbers

I would never tell someone else how they should view their own collection. What I will offer is that the general collecting community only recognizes two distinct numbers as fancy. Three distinct numbers is considered an 'almost fancy' serial number. Unless the four distinct numbers are all doubled, ie: 22774499, or something unique like that four numbers aren't typically labeled fancy.

It’s a nice looking star note and it looks uncirculated as well but it’s not a fancy number. Sorry., still a keeper in my book.

Hard to find clean crisp stars like that in the wild too often. I like it. Chicago stars are not common to find in my area.

As stated above, not a fancy or really a collectible serial number, but like others, I tend to keep all star notes I run across, so put it in a sleeve and hang on to it, if you like it.
