    Neat find! How did you discover them? I’m imagining some Revolutionary War Hessian losing them on the run.

    I regularly go to thrift stores, Good Will, Idaho Youth Ranch, LDS Thrift, among others. I sometime come up with something interesting and worthy of purchase. Enjoyed the post, thank you.

    There is even a market for this kind of coins, see https://www.ebay.de/itm/203045023375
    and by the way, those are found often in Germany as it was very common to use coins as buttons.

    Pray tell, what were you hunting? Grouse, pheasant, deer?

    Nice find even if they are damaged as buttons. Oh the history they could tell, if they could talk.
