Just lost my father yesterday. Damn cancer. Just 73 years old, way too early. His name was Claude, Claudius in Latin. A few years ago, I gave him a set of coins bearing the name Claudius. He was surprised to learn that so many Emperors had his name included in their praenomen or nomen. So in his memory, here are some coins I didn’t show off for a while. Please show me your favorite examples too. I’ll miss you Dad. Clodius Albinus Claudius the Gothicus Claudius II Claudius I

My deepest sympathies, Ocat. Just lost a parent myself quite recently, so I have some idea of what you’re going through (I’m still going through it here.) My mother’s name (lifelong nickname, really) was Happy, so I suppose I would have also posted a Felicitas coin, if I’d had one.
