So sorry to hear about your mother, Rob. Man, what a time of year to lose a parent. Take care of yourself, my friend.

Rob.........just a thought to help you get through your grief. My Mother also passed during the Holiday Season......I was always a mama's boy, and moms passing caused a lot of hurt (and anger) for me.
Then I realized I couldn't carry that around the rest of my life, and began to look at it NOT from the perspective of what I lost, but what was given to me....meaning I was blessed with 50 + years of having a wonderful mother in my life, which is not something a lot of people are blessed with. I decided from that moment on....to honor my mother and carry forward that blessing by keeping it in my heart and living my life based on everything she taught me during those 50+ years and sharing the love and support she gifted me, with everybody I interact with. I know in my heart that that is what she would want me to do. I try to live my life in a way that I know she would be proud of.

Yes, grief , pain and anger are part of the process , but nobody who loves you would want to carry that around for long. ESPECIALLY a Mother.

I hope with all my heart that your grief passes as quickly as possible.

    Sincerely,
    Mike aka Beardigger

Thanks. There's certainly no anger here. My family, though geographically scattered, is pretty close-knit, and aside from a divorce or two, largely free of drama and angst.

For decades I've dreaded this day, and yet now that it has happened, I find I'm surprisingly not devastated. I suppose I've been mentally preparing for it for a while. Mom, the night before she passed, told a friend she was ready, so I take solace in that.

So I reckon that's enough about that.

Resume giveaway chatter. I'll drop in when I can. :)

I am JUST getting around to getting caught up, My wife went in for emergency hernia surgery the week prior to Christmas. Turned out not only hernia, but her intestines were also mostly blocked, twisted, and bloated. The doctor said they looked like Balloon Animals!!

I just wanted to say I'm sorry for your loss. This is a hard time to lose someone. My brother passed on the 12-20-21, so I can somewhat relate. Nothing compares to losing a parent but you're not alone in your grief.

Ha! You see? There's a reason I put that disclaimer there. LOL ;)

OK, so we're almost a month late due to outside circumstances in my life, but I'm firing up the random number generator now...

OK, the random number generator hath spoken, and the number it chose was...

    #84!

(Which I sometimes use as a lucky number myself, since that was my high school graduation year. But I digress.)

Anyway, Post #84 was by... @AncientNumis!

    Congratulations, @AncientNumis!

Per the promise in the original post, IOU $40-50-ish worth of Ancient and/or Medieval-flavored goodies, including silver. I will need your shipping address.

I also ask two favors: one, give me a little while to select and ship the lot. I'm likely to be a bit slow this time around, but you'll get the goodies, and I'll try to make the lot worth the wait. Two, do please post here to this thread when you get the stuff, so we'll know you got it, and everyone else will know what you got.

If you'd like to know what it is when I ship it out, I can post a preview here. This is the first "mystery" giveaway I've done in a while, but I'll probably be doing more of them in the near future, until I get my online inventory caught up. It's easier to do it this way, since I do not have most of my inventory photographed or uploaded at the present time. Besides, folks seemed to have enjoy the mystery aspect this time around.

    Numismatic regards,
